Watchdog: ‘The Artist’ film to be censored in Russia

The art-film-maker Aleksandr Durov has won the right to release a film about a controversial artist, according to Russian authorities.

The film, titled “The Artist,” has already been approved by a Moscow court, but Durovi said on his Twitter account that the film would be banned in Russia.

The artist film, Durovas said, will be censored, because it violates a law which prevents “extremist” films from being screened in the country.

The art-filmmaker said that he had appealed against the ruling by a court in St. Petersburg, which found that the art-festival was not a public place.

Durov, who has been living in Moscow since 2013, was arrested in January 2017 and sentenced to three years in prison, though the government has since pardoned him.

Duryodov was also convicted of using a fake passport in 2014.

He is currently serving a 15-year sentence.

The Russian authorities have been trying to censor a film by Durovs film maker, Aleksander Durovol, who says he is being persecuted by the authorities, who said he is a “danger to society.”

Durovs first film “The Art of The Artist” was screened in October 2017, at a festival of the Moscow Patriarchate, a church that Durovich founded.

Doyrovs film “A Russian Dream” was released in January 2018, and received positive reviews.

But in December 2017, a court found that it was “extemporaneous,” violating a law that bans films that promote “extramural, radical, antisocial, or extremist political ideas” and that promotes “the overthrow of the state.”

The film was screened again at a film festival in Moscow in March 2018, but the judge who made the ruling has since said he will not release it in Russia, Duryodv told The Hollywood Reporter.

Doryv has been in the US since December 2017 and was detained for questioning, after being found guilty of violating the country’s law against insulting the state.

He was released on bail and then was detained again in November 2018.

In February 2019, Doryv said that after being released from custody, he went to visit a local artist who had been released from jail, and the artist told him that he wanted to make a film that celebrates “the spirit of the artist.”

Duryv was arrested for a year in 2018.

He has since been sentenced to 10 years in a Moscow jail, where he is serving his time.
