The film will have its world premiere at The Void Cinema in London, England on October 29.
We’ll have a preview of the film and an interview with director Johnathan Blake.
The Void is an immersive 3D virtual reality film.
It was created by VR developer, Void Studios, and will be distributed through the Oculus platform for a limited time, starting October 29 at 10am PT/5pm ET.
In the film, you’ll play as a space-dwelling humanoid.
As you walk around the cityscape, you’re surrounded by colorful, virtual spaces, which can be manipulated to look different and interact with the surrounding environment.
The film was created with a team of four students, who spent two weeks developing the virtual reality world.
The project was inspired by a number of different experiences in virtual reality, including the “space-age” movie “The Martian” and the popular sci-fi game “The Void.”
The Void will be available on the Oculus Store for $7.99 per month or $199.99 for a year.
The movie will be released on VR headsets like the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, PlayStation VR, and Gear VR.
Oculus founder Palmer Luckey has been promoting the film in the past, stating that it will “become a big deal” in VR.
He said at the Oculus Connect conference in March that the film was a “huge hit” in virtual world experiences.
